Position Summary...

We are seeking a visionary and technically skilled leader to join as Director, Technology Support - Digital Enablement for Format Development & Real Estate. This role is responsible for crafting and executing a digital strategy that transforms complex, manual workflows into intelligent, automated systems using Gen AI, advanced analytics, and scalable platforms. The successful candidate will collaborate across teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions that enhance speed, efficiency, and decision-making. Deep technical expertise, a strong grasp of emerging AI technologies, and the ability to align innovations with Walmart’s global digital ecosystem are essential for success.

What you'll do...

As Director of Digital Enablement, you will lead the transformation of manual processes into streamlined, data-driven digital solutions. You will partner with Format Development team leads to co-develop and execute a unified Digital Strategy Roadmap that aligns with Format Development’s strategic objectives. Your role spans strategy, execution, and cross-functional alignment— shaping a shared digital vision and turning it into reality through trusted partnerships and thoughtful innovation.

In this role, you will also work closely with Walmart US and Walmart International counterparts to identify, adapt, and align with best-in-class solutions already in use across the global Walmart ecosystem. You will help bring Format Development’s digital capabilities to parity with global standards, ensuring consistency, scalability, and reusability of technology assets wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Define and lead the Digital Strategy Roadmap across all Format Development functions, aligning goals with broader Walmart Canada and Walmart US strategic objectives.
  • Act as a digital thought partner to Format Development leadership, surfacing and shaping initiatives with the highest business impact.
  • Lead Digital Enablement’s contribution to Annual Operating Planning (AOP) and Long-Range Planning (LRP) processes.

Execution & Delivery:

  • Lead a small, agile in-house technical team responsible for developing digital products and solutions.
  • Manage execution through vendors, Walmart Technology teams, and other external delivery partners to ensure high-quality, on-time outcomes.
  • Oversee solution design and implementation using technologies such as Tableau Prep, Power BI, MS SQL, and front-end platforms built on ReactJS and Node.js.

Collaboration:

  • Partner closely with Walmart US counterparts to ensure alignment on shared capabilities and leverage best practices.
  • Communicate roadmaps, results, and insights clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Innovation & Advocacy:

  • Serve as a thought leader in the application of Generative AI (GenAI) to improve operational workflows, automate routine tasks, and unlock new value streams.
  • Act as the GenAI advocate for Format Development, fostering experimentation, sharing use cases, and working with partners to pilot and scale AI-enabled solutions.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 15+ years of experience in digital transformation, product development, or enterprise operations.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering enterprise-scale digital solutions.
  • Strong understanding of workflow automation, business intelligence, and analytics platforms.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into actionable roadmaps.
  • Exceptional communication skills and executive presence.
  • Experience managing senior stakeholders and influencing at the VP+ level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, operations, or business.
  • Experience working in a retail or omnichannel enterprise.
  • Familiarity with Walmart systems and technology stack is a plus.
