Position Summary...

This role is responsible for executing Private Brand Food sourcing strategies including direct imports for Private Brand and National Brand items that maximize margin and profitable sales within the Food Division.

What you'll do...

• Determine the appropriate categories to execute RFP / RFQ / RFI resulting with a formal presentation to the business supported with options and recommendations.
• Diversify supplies of existing items from local and Global sources – surety of supply, alignment to strategic country sourcing
• Source & negotiate new products with the approved Private Brand product specifications
• Develop and execute plans to drive savings opportunities and cost mitigation strategies, including resourcing items where necessary
• Define buying timelines and communicate with Supply Chain, Category Managers and the Walmart Private Brand Product Teams.
• Own supplier relationship
  • Maintain and strengthen vendor relations through regular communications including attending selected trade shows and conducting supplier/factory visits
  • Manage the overall Supplier communication, ensuring thorough understanding of Private Brand standards and guardrails for existing, new and prospective suppliers.
  • Oversee Supplier onboarding process for new supplier along with execution for all supplier in portfolio working with supply chain and replenishment on end-to-end order fulfillment
  • Manage and execute Vendor transition to reduce risk of product being unavailable at store

• Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders such Category Managers, Supply Chain/Replenishment, Walmart Private Brands Product Development/Quality teams and international teams, while ensuring effective collaboration and representation of recommendations brought forward.
• Manage contract tracker to strategically plan negotiations for domestic, imports and international (IJB) programs

Qualifications

Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Years of Experience Required 5 - 7 years

Experience in retail, manufacturing or Sourcing industry
