Position Summary...

The Manager, Art Direction, Brand Creative Design is responsible for creating and delivering high quality creative solutions from concept to execution. This role will support the brand creative vision of the Omni Brand Design department by working closely with the Director, Brand Creative Design, and supporting creative execution with internal and external partners to ensure the Walmart brand is communicated in a strong and consistent manner. This role will be key stake owner of their projects and will inspire, lead and mentor other designers and agency teams.

KEY DELIVERABLES

Functional

  • Work with the Director, Brand Creative Design to build and develop strategic creative campaign concepts and design solutions that span all omni channels
  • Develop Campaign Vis ID & style guides for internal and external partners to ensure consistency across executions
  • Create photography directional mood boards and mockups for lifestyle categories and execute all photography with external agency studio partners
  • Supports the Director, Brand Creative Design by overseeing the day-to-day creative operations of the digest program with external agency partners. Supporting in creative development and final execution of all layouts, design elements and photography for digests. Ensures the agency is following established brand and creative standards set by Director, Brand Creative Design as well as ensures that all approved seasonal campaign VisID direction is being executed to the highest standard in our seasonal digests.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all photography production from digest is executed to support digital channels within budget
  • Attend all pre-production planning meetings for photoshoots
  • Develop and maintain design templates for omni use
  • Update brand guidelines as required
  • Execute designs and apply Walmart branding aesthetics, ensuring consistency and appropriate application
  • Assist Director, Brand Creative Design in reviewing creative execution from internal partners and external agency teams, to ensure design and brand creative consistency
  • Prepare, collect, and distribute all file components of the project to hand off to vendors and external and internal partners in required timeframe
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external partners
  • Stay abreast of current design trends
  • Work in agile manner to adjust project goals and execute revisions while maintaining established schedules
  • Keep track of new updates and design as they apply to projects and communicates changes within projects when needed
  • Lead and present creative solutions on key design projects

QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience / Education / Certifications

  • 10 years experience in agency or in-house creative studio. Retail marketing & brand experience preferred
  • Post Secondary Degree in design, arts program or equivalent

Competencies / Skills / Attributes

  • An expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) Figma a plus
  • Excellent conceptual, visualization, and presentation skills
  • Portfolio demonstrating senior skills in graphic design, typography, branding, and photography direction
  • On-set art direction experience for photography and video
  • An understanding of storytelling and content creation
  • Strong attention to detail and professionalism
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to focus on priorities, juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines while balancing design requirements in a fast paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems efficiently
  • Confidence and leadership qualities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
