Position Summary...
The Finance Manager, Merchandise Finance will play a key leading role to ensure the creation and delivery of monthly results, forecasts, reporting, and other FP&A activities for all business units within the Merchandise banner. Strong focus will be on the optimization of investment returns of business unit(s) and of financial performance led by the Director of Finance. The position will be required to assist in identifying key risks and opportunities and to recommend corrective action to ensure financial goals are met. The position will in addition provide increased management oversight on larger finance portfolio’s and will be delegated more complex and will support on multi-business unit finance projects and processes.What you'll do...
Responsibilities:
Lead in the development of annual budgets by aligning targets with finance business partners and to assist with the setting of departmental targets based on market dynamics, historical performance, and any known capital and/or expense investments.
Manage performance and hold the business teams accountable to delivery of Omni P&L results through the cadence of the weekly, monthly forecast and business review process.
Proactively analyze key trends, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend plans and contingencies to support the business teams’ delivery against financial targets.
Create, distribute, and present standard management reports that provide clear and synthesized understanding of financial performance by channel.
Partner with other Finance teams such as Controllership and the eCommerce Finance team to ensure overall accuracy of financial data and Financial Reporting.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of sales and gross profit data as part of the monthly closing process and forecasting activities, adhering to established deadlines and quality standards.
Identify opportunities to improve process and systems and implement standardized solutions across area of responsibility and other areas within finance which includes Operations, Supply chain, Real Estate, etc.
Support development of business case (aligned with methodology from Investment Finance team) for all initiatives that support business area strategies and prioritize Capex and Opex investment recommendations. In addition, will take on project communication and presentations to both finance and business leadership teams.
Lead multi business unit process initiative(s) to drive efficiency and simplify Omni ways of working.
Coach and develop group of indirect reports (project team FAs, SFAs). Support direct Manager with onboarding and ongoing training of new financial analyses and methodologies. Drive associate engagement by valuing associates, listening, and responding to concerns and recognizing accomplishments especially in the team the associate leads within its projects.
Partner with Central Merch FP&A team to ensure accuracy of Management reporting and working with them to standardize and optimize financial reporting processes.
Monitor all risks and opportunities as they related to the above cycles.
Initial drafting of narratives around variance and KPI trends seen in the above cycles.
Software Proficiency: Utilize financial reporting tools such as Excel, Tableau, SAP, and MFP to efficiently manage and analyze financial data, streamline processes, and enhance reporting capabilities.
Cultivate strong relationships within Finance and business partners to foster collaboration, align financial planning efforts, and support decision-making processes across the organization.
