Position Summary...
The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, training of the health and safety program. This includes governance, legislative compliance, policy and standard development, ensuring the maintenance and accessibility of program documents on company intranet site, nationalization of the joint health and safety program for supply chain and retail to ensure it meets all provincial regulatory requirements, development of digital inspections and audits to ensure continuous improvement. The successful incumbent will be a cultural ambassador and ensure our programs reflect the company goal to provide a safe work and shopping environment for our associates and our customers.What you'll do...
1.Design and implement national health and safety program standards and controls that meet provincial regulatory requirements and promote safety while reinforcing accident prevention.
2.Maintain the program inventory and schedule annual reviews of the standards and guidelines to ensure they meet legal and regulatory requirements and promote continuous improvement. Conduct annual program maturity review.
3.Responsible for the design of the national joint health and safety committee program. Creating and implementing a JHSC program that meets regulatory requirements, ensuring each site selects its committee according to regulations, conducts regular meetings to address hazards and concerns, provides training to committee members and develops a program to recognize the contributions of committee members.
4.Standardize and enhance inspections program and build a digital tool to capture site completion and compliance for each facility.
5.Monitor program execution through analysis of metrics, audits, inspections and regulatory visits and make recommendations for improvement to key business stakeholders.
6.Review health and safety training assets for effectiveness and ensure simplification and standardization of content and audience.
7.Liaise with regulatory bodies (provincial WCB’s, MOL) and ensure regulatory compliance with safety programs and implement corrective actions. This may also include participation in industry associations to gain knowledge to improve the health and safety program and accident prevention s

Qualifications
- Strong relationship management and problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and oral communication
- Competency is using data and dashboards to analyse results to determine actions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Monitors training industry standards
- Knowledge of instructional design or adult learning (ADDIE) an asset
- Experience with project management an asset
- Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum Years of Experience Required 3-5 years
- Bilingual French and English is an asset but not required
