Position Summary...

The Principal Product Manager for Item Setup & Maintenance (PM-ISM) will be hired based on deep subject matter expertise in product data management within the retail space. This individual will have extensive experience in managing product information systems, ensuring data accuracy and completeness, and implementing efficient item setup processes.

The PM-ISM will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and collaborating with several agile teams focused on item setup and maintenance. Additionally, the PM-ISM will collaborate with other roles across Supply Chain, Merchandising, and Inventory Management to ensure that our item setup and maintenance processes are streamlined, accurate, and efficient, supporting Walmart's overall business objectives.

The PM-ISM will need to collaborate closely with Engineering leadership to build and refine the item setup and maintenance skillsets across our teams. This role also requires close collaboration with Data Governance and Quality Assurance teams to ensure data integrity and compliance.

What you'll do...

Develop and Align on Strategic Roadmap:

• Craft and gain alignment on the strategic roadmap for item setup and maintenance, connecting the dots between our high-level business strategy and operational needs.

Manage Item Setup Processes:

• Create and maintain item setup and maintenance processes, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.

Measure and Report on KPIs:

• Measure and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to item setup and maintenance; implement continuous improvement initiatives based on data insights.

Strategic Planning:

• Key participant in quarterly and annual planning, as well as ongoing updates; opportunity to own major initiatives that are part of the annual strategy.

Collaborate with Engineering:

• Partner with Engineering to implement process improvements and technological advancements in item setup and maintenance.

Collaborate with Data Governance:

• Work closely with Data Governance and Quality Assurance teams to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.

Design Best-in-Class Processes:

• Partner with cross-functional teams to design best-in-class item setup and maintenance processes, enhancing overall operational efficiency and data quality.
