Position Summary...

The Senior Manager, Specialty Compliance and Ethics, Walmart Connect is a new position responsible for the design and execution of Walmart Canada’s Connect and Scintilla compliance strategy, including the development of a digital media compliance program, and providing direction and oversight on related compliance matters. This position must develop and implement an end-to-end program to cultivate adherence to regulatory requirements, Walmart policies and alignment industry standards where appropriate. This role will be expected to recognize and manage across risk areas with respect to the Walmart Connect and related businesses, serving as a subject matter expert in all aspects of Walmart Canada’s expanding digital media and data analytics businesses.

What you'll do...

• Establish and implement screening controls and other training/awareness resources that manage the risk associated with onboarding different types of clients into regulated/sensitive categories, taking into consideration the client risk profile, legal advice, business priorities and risk tolerance.
• Create an end-to-end compliance framework that includes: (i) developing and implementing compliance operational policies/standards/guidelines for the new Connect/Scintilla businesses; (ii) developing and implementing compliance controls (structural/behavioural as appropriate); (iii) facilitating training/awareness tailored to different teams (Connect/ Store associates/ Marketing/Merchandising, etc.) covering the various subject matters as applicable (AC, Privacy, CP, Antitrust, Food Safety); and (iv) testing/monitoring controls including periodic assessment of and reporting on controls triggered by the business both in-store and online.
• Design, implement and monitor automated digital experience controls related to consumer protection with a particular focus on targeted advertising services (i.e., condoms) as well as regional considerations (i.e., Quebec, restrictions on national campaigns, etc.).
• Design, implement and monitor in-store activation controls related to (i) consumer protection and other regulatory requirements that apply to in-store advertising (i.e., French language requirements in Quebec, license to sample alcohol, minors, etc.); (ii) privacy and related records management requirements, (iii) health and safety and (iv) food safety. 
• Create processes/controls for managing rights owners and validation of intellection property rights (i.e., SupplierOne/Brandportal), as well as client approvals of prepared assets.
• Design, implement and monitor pre-screening due diligence controls for Anti-Corruption (i.e., controls for Service Providers/Vendors, Governmental Entities/Officials, Social Media Influencers identified as Governmental Entities/Officials), Trade Sanctions, Privacy, AML, Antitrust.

Qualifications

• Strong experience working with/comprehension of technology systems, AI, data analysis.
• Specialized experience in audit, legal or compliance. 
• Understanding of Canadian advertising and marketing laws.
• Experience in training business teams on compliance processes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in developing/designing new processes and/or workflows in emerging business areas.
• Ability to work across diverse teams to build consensus and improve execution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Experience in advertising, and digital marketing an asset.
