Position Summary...

The Manager, Cost Analytics leads the application of vendor management and cost-analytics processes and tools within their assigned SBU to reduce merchandise costs in line with SBU goals, in a manner consistent with delivering the business’ customer and sales goals.

What you'll do...

1. Act as project manager for annual negotiation process within assigned SBU: Lead working sessions with category managers to identify and quantify supplier performance gaps and develop strategy and key messages to communicate supplier ask. Develop and manage preparation work plan and negotiation tracker; identify issues / risks and work with business unit and SVM leadership to align on resolution; develop weekly and ad hoc SBU and Executive leadership updates.

2. Support category managers to complete annual negotiations:advise on supplier communications related to cost analytics items consistent with legal and compliance rules; assess supplier proposals relative to identified performance gaps to support response to suppliers; complete analysis to develop counteroffers

3 Support category managers to complete category diagnostic: ensure data integrity, provide thorough analysis around predefined business KPIs, identify key actions to deliver on category ambitions

4 Leverage insights on topics such as pricing, promotions, assortment, category space, market-share, and category roles, as a strategic inputs to vendor negotiation strategies

5 Coordinate top-to-top meetings for top tier vendors with merchandising leadership:prepare scorecards; communicate process and timelines to suppliers and ensure on-time completion of process; work with supplier representatives to resolve data or process questions; facilitate internal meetings with SBU leadership and support resolution of action items

6. Support the execution of the monthly VIP (vendor investment program). Quality-check and process the vendor bills for designated SBUs

7 Develop ad hoc analytics to support application of fact-based reporting & decision tools or address requests from business unit partner

8. Lead the SBU content creation and logistics for the annual supplier conference – this includes supporting SBU’s strategic messaging, alignment with corporate messaging, finalizing and managing the invitee list, etc

9 Provide training and communication within assigned teams and support troubleshooting

Qualifications

· 5 - 8 Years of experience working on or leading merchandising projects (cost analytics, negotiations, cost-increase mitigations, assortment, category strategy) with an emphasis on data driven approaches and insights

· Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to draw insights from complex data · Experience in helping define analytical solutions to business problems

· Understanding of how fact-based tools can be used for better decision making in complex and dynamic business environments

· Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to influence and communicate across all levels

· Ability to motivate, guide and mentor a high-performing team
