The Manager, Industrial Engineering manages the planning and execution of high-value, complex projects within Walmart's distribution network. This role assesses the feasibility of initiatives, builds business cases and budgets, and coordinates project meetings with stakeholders. The position involves managing the conceptual and detailed design, installation, and commissioning of projects, reporting on project status and risks, conducting successful project closures and sharing of best practices. Additionally, the Manager will provide post-go-live support and drive improved decisions through advanced analytics and building of dashboards.
The Manager leads logistics assessments, facility design, process optimization, and continuous improvement events in collaboration with various teams. This role requires staying updated on supply chain technology, conducting research on viable solutions, and collaborating with vendors to learn about new technologies. The Manager may provide technical recommendations to senior management and support long-range engineering planning and budgeting for distribution center operations and assets.
Driving the development of data analytics models and simulations, the Manager supports Walmart’s transition into a sustainable and digitally transformed organization. This role builds and maintains cross-functional relationships and recommends best practices. Sustainability initiatives are identified and recommended to support Walmart’s vision of becoming a regenerative organization, assessing the sustainability impact of proposed projects.
The Manager, Industrial Engineering will also serve as a subject matter expert in conducting facility capacity assessments, supporting Engineering frameworks related to AutoCAD drawing modifications, distribution center racking reprofiling, and re-slotting analyses to ensure compliance.
The Manager provides leadership, direction, coaching, and mentoring for a team of engineers and/or interns, ensuring critical department deliverables are met. This role supports the development of Individual Development Plans (IDP) and training plans to encourage career growth and proper succession planning. Additionally, the Manager collaborates with logistics leadership to support engineering initiatives aligned with Walmart’s strategic goals. (REMOVE)

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related Engineering field
- A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt, PMP) are a plus.
- A Professional Engineering certification (P.Eng) is not required but a plus.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in industrial engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of process improvement methodologies like Lean Manufacturing (Root Causing Methodologies) and Six Sigma.
- Proficiency in industrial engineering tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Minitab, Time Study Tools, Arena Simulation and Modelling)
- Strong background in Data Analytics and analytics software including (Power Bi, Tableau, SQL)
