Position Summary...
The Manager, Procurement - IF supports the execution of strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives across a variety of indirect spend categories. Working closely with Senior Managers, Directors, and key business stakeholders, this role is responsible for managing sourcing projects, conducting market and commercial analyses, supporting supplier negotiations, and facilitating contract discussions that deliver value to the organization.The successful candidate will initially support a defined portfolio of indirect procurement categories and business partners, with opportunities to expand their scope and support additional categories as business priorities evolve. This role serves as a key partner to Senior Procurement leaders, providing analytical, project management, and sourcing expertise to support the successful execution of procurement initiatives.
What you'll do...
This role demonstrates strong influencing, analytical, and relationship management skills to support stakeholders and business partners in following strategic sourcing processes, procurement policies, and best practices. The incumbent works collaboratively with Senior Managers, Directors, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify sourcing opportunities, and execute procurement initiatives that drive value, mitigate risk, and improve supplier outcomes.
The role is responsible for leading and supporting the end-to-end sourcing process for assigned projects, including project identification, requirements gathering, development of sourcing strategies, supplier engagement, RFx events, proposal evaluation, commercial analysis, negotiations, supplier selection, and contract execution support. Acting as a key support resource for Senior Managers, the incumbent coordinates sourcing activities, manages project timelines, and helps ensure initiatives remain aligned with business objectives and governance requirements.
Conducting market research, supplier benchmarking, category analyses, and competitive assessments is a critical responsibility of this role. The Manager, Procurement continuously monitors market conditions, industry trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging opportunities to provide insights and recommendations that support sourcing decisions and business objectives. The role collaborates with procurement leadership and business teams to identify cost savings, operational efficiencies, supplier innovation opportunities, and other sources of value.
The incumbent supports supplier negotiations and contract discussions by developing commercial analyses, evaluating supplier proposals, assessing total cost of ownership, and preparing negotiation strategies and supporting materials. Working closely with Senior Managers and business stakeholders, the role helps facilitate negotiations that balance commercial value, supplier performance expectations, and risk management objectives.
A key aspect of the role involves building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers. The Manager, Procurement acts as a trusted business partner, facilitating discussions to gather requirements, manage sourcing activities, coordinate stakeholder input, and communicate project progress. The role works closely with Senior Managers to ensure stakeholders are informed of opportunities, risks, recommendations, and sourcing outcomes throughout the procurement lifecycle.
The position is responsible for maintaining accurate sourcing documentation and ensuring compliance with procurement policies, governance processes, and contractual obligations. The incumbent supports the sourcing approval process and works with stakeholders to ensure decisions are appropriately documented and aligned with organizational requirements.
The Manager, Procurement is also responsible for tracking sourcing project milestones, savings delivery, sourcing pipeline activity, and key performance indicators. Regular reporting, analysis, and updates are provided to Senior Managers, procurement leadership, and business stakeholders to support decision-making and ensure successful execution of procurement initiatives.
Additionally, the incumbent contributes to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance procurement processes, leverage sourcing tools and analytics, improve stakeholder engagement, and strengthen sourcing practices across the organization.
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing sourcing events, including RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs.
- Experience supporting supplier negotiations, contract discussions, and commercial evaluations.
- Strong analytical capabilities, including spend analysis, market assessments, financial analysis, and supplier proposal evaluation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize competing demands.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional business teams, suppliers, Legal, Finance, and other support functions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and procurement or sourcing tools.
- Experience supporting indirect spend categories is considered an asset.
