The Manager, Workforce Planning ensures scheduling systems, mobile applications and tools are effective and meet user needs. This role leads development of mid- and long-term strategic roadmap for workforce management system applications, implementation plans for system upgrades, and related business processes. This role builds relationships with stakeholders to assess new requirements, works with global partners and external vendors to influence the development of global technology solutions to maximize the potential of workforce management and related solutions for Canada.
The role involves investigating and responding to store issues with wage plans and schedules, engaging internal and cross-functional teams to determine resolutions, and communicating plans with stakeholders. Reporting on wage spend, productivity, and improvement initiatives is a key responsibility, ensuring data is consolidated into appropriate dashboards for senior and executive audiences.
Ensuring store wage budgets meet business needs, the manager conducts evaluations of tools and processes, consults with business partners, and applies suggestions for improving accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This role partners with Market Leaders, Field Operations, and Innovation teams to improve operational effectiveness and productivity, and interacts with field partners and stores to explain productivity targets and impacts to wage plans and schedule demand.
Responsible for the overall performance and effectiveness of Customer FIRST scheduling system and related workforce management systems, including desktop and mobile applications. Over 4000 managers access these systems daily to schedule associates, and over 75,000 associates rely on these systems to view weekly schedules and request updates to schedules and availability. This role is the business owner of these applications and is responsible for monitoring system performance, investigating issues, coordinating with key technology partners, planning updates, and communicating with stakeholders when issues arise.
