Position Summary...
The Senior Manager, Associate Relations (Program & Case Management) leads the national workplace investigations case management program across Canada, overseeing investigations related to harassment, discrimination, Code of Conduct, and other related compliance investigations across all business units. This role ensures investigations are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, internal policies, and global governance standards. In addition to managing a team of case managers, this role is accountable for the design, delivery and continuous improvement of the investigations program, including policies, standards, tools, and training. The Senior Manager provides strategic insight through data-driven analysis of investigation trends and outcomes and serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders to mitigate risk, strengthen culture, and drive continuous improvement.What you'll do...
Program Leadership & Case Management
- Lead and oversee the end‑to‑end case management program for workplace investigations across Canada, ensuring timely, fair, and high‑quality outcomes in compliance with legal, policy, and global governance requirements.
- Manage and develop a team of case managers, providing direction, coaching, and performance oversight to ensure consistent investigative practices.
- Maintain oversight of investigation workflows, prioritization, and escalation to ensure effective risk management across all business units, including retail and supply chain.
- Lead cross‑functional collaboration with technology and development teams to enhance and optimize the case management system and other investigative or reporting tools.
Investigations & Assessments
- Lead a defined scope of complex or high‑risk workplace investigations and assessments, as required.
- Provide guidance and quality assurance for investigations conducted by case managers, investigators, and trained leaders.
- Ensure investigative findings are well‑documented, defensible, and aligned with best practices and legal standards.
Program Development & Continuous Improvement
- Design, implement, and evolve investigation‑related policies, guidelines, standards, and operating procedures.
- Develop and maintain standardized investigation tools and resources, including intake forms, findings reports, and communication templates.
- Lead the development and delivery of training programs for investigators and leaders who conduct or support workplace investigations.
Analytics, Reporting & Insights
- Analyze investigation data, trends, and outcomes to identify systemic issues, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop clear, actionable reporting and insights for senior leaders and key stakeholders to support informed decision‑making.
- Use data and insights to influence policy enhancements, training priorities, and risk mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Partnership & Advisory
- Partner closely with Global Ethics, Compliance, Legal, People, and Operations teams to align investigation practices with enterprise requirements.
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior leaders with practical recommendations that drive cultural and operational improvements.
- Support organizational objectives by proactively identifying risks and contributing to solutions that enhance associate experience and trust.
Leadership Impact
- This role plays a critical leadership role in fostering a respectful, compliant, and accountable workplace culture. Through strong program governance, expert investigations, and strategic insights, the Senior Manager helps support leaders, and strengthen associate confidence in the investigation process.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Appropriate familiarity with applicable employment law and relevant legislation, including human rights, harassment, and discrimination.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex workplace investigations, including high-risk and high-sensitivity matters.
- Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to coach, develop, and hold investigators accountable to high standards of quality and timeliness.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Ethics, and People teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in reviewing or drafting investigation reports and findings.
- Strong analytical and judgment capabilities, with the ability to manage risk and make sound, defensible decisions.
- Bachelors degree
- Legal degree an asset
- Experience with labour relations framework and working through the grievance process an asset
- Bilingual (French and English) an asset
Skills:
- Ability to provide feedback / advice to management with respect to workplace investigations, human rights and harassment
- Ability to provide advice and direction in the face of ambiguity to business partners
- Sound judgment. Critical in determining whether an appropriate investigation in the circumstances has been conducted and appropriately escalating complex/high risk matters
- Ability to accommodate concurrent and significant demands in multiple areas.
- Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate through verbal and written communications clearly and concisely.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills. Comfort with building excel reports, supporting development of dashboards and using new technology
- Ability to work cross-functionally and to develop strong relationships across the business.
