Position Summary...

This role executes Private Brand sourcing strategies for assigned categories, including direct imports for Private Brand and National Brand items, maximizing margin and profitable sales.

This is a fixed term six months contract opportunity.

What you'll do...

This role develops complex sourcing strategies for assigned products by collaborating with cross-functional business partners to understand product demand. It serves as a subject-matter and industry expert for multiple commodities and items, overseeing sourcing programs at the item level, and influencing business partners to bring product and packaging innovation to market.

The role aligns the sourcing strategy with the annual operating plan of merchants, providing perishability and quality insights to guide merchandise flow and replenishment decisions. It incorporates company growth strategies into planning, such as growth in direct imports.

This role creates complex vendor decision matrices by evaluating new and existing vendors based on performance metrics and long-term potential. It negotiates with vendors to obtain products at the lowest sustainable costs, tracking awarded costs against actual costs and ensuring cost keys are accurate. It informs planners and merchants of changes that affect the cost of goods.

Developing strategic vendor relationships with multi-year contracts for business continuity is part of this role. It identifies, develops, and maintains supplier relationships that meet company financial, ethical, and sustainability standards. The role assesses and develops vendor capabilities, conducts quarterly performance reviews, and resolves vendor issues.

Additionally, this role drives execution of business plans and projects, removing barriers, providing resources, and developing contingency plans. It ensures associates receive supervision and development opportunities, promotes company policies and values, and evaluates the effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives. The role also supports community outreach events.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum Years of Experience Required 7 - 10 years
  • Experience in retail, manufacturing or Sourcing industry
