What you'll do...
The Solution Consultant II contributes to budget estimates, supports change control, and helps monitor risk management and other PMO deliverables. This role works closely with key stakeholders to understand and
gather system needs, identifying and escalating technical issues, risks, limitations, and dependencies. The position may involve collaborating with cross functional tech leads, QA analysts and performing project tasks as needed. Additionally, the Solution Consultant II participates and leads project update meetings and managing deliverables of Engineering teams and contractors. A critical part of the role includes implementing Gen AI based solutions and driving productivity through GenAI tools.
The Solution Consultant II supports the technical solutioning process by collaborating with architecture, security, and engineering teams during discovery to assess the feasibility, scalability, and stability of solution features. This role specifies, prioritizes, and communicates high-level and detailed technical specifications, using written specifications, data flow diagrams, API contracts, system constraints, and technical architecture deliverables.
Supporting solution implementation and deployment, the Solution Consultant II engages with engineering and project management to answer questions and provide input on scope trade-off decisions. This role works closely with operations and the business to launch solutions and ensure their stability, coordinates post-launch activities to validate system performance, assists with the development of technical runbooks, and supports users on new system features. The position also involves managing close-loop incident cycles to encompass production defects and needs, defining, tracking, and improving key performance metrics.
The Solution Consultant II demonstrates up-to-date expertise in technical implementation and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others. This role supports and aligns efforts to meet customer and business needs, builds commitment for perspectives and rationales, and leverages guidance from senior technical managers to execute backlogs, participate in SCRUMS, and make ongoing clarifications and trade-offs in partnership with engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field and 2 years’ experience in software engineering, technical consulting, or solution architecture OR 4 years’ experience in a relevant technical field.
- Technical Implementation: Proven experience in configuring, deploying, and validating complex software applications (e.g., POS, ERP, Store Systems).
- Data & APIs: Proficiency in SQL for data validation and experience troubleshooting REST/JSON APIs using tools like Postman or Splunk.
- Retail Knowledge: Preferred experience with retail technology stacks, including Point of Sale hardware, peripheral integration, or distributed store networks. Experience building and implementing AI and Gen AI solutions
- Agile Delivery: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment, contributing to technical backlogs, and participating in sprint ceremonies.
- Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills with the ability to triage Level 3 production issues and coordinate root cause analysis with engineering teams.
