Position Summary...

"The Team Leader, Quality Control, PDC is responsible for end-to-end oversight of Quality Control (QC) operations at a Perishable Distribution Centre. This role provides direct leadership, technical guidance, and performance management to all QC Technicians on site and ensures fresh produce, meat, and seafood meet Walmart Canada quality standards, regulatory requirements, and food safety expectations.

​The Team Leader, Quality Control serves as the site subject-matter expert for fresh quality, drives inspection consistency, ensures timely decision‑making on product disposition, and acts as the primary quality liaison with PDC operations, merchants, suppliers, and upstream/downstream partners.

What you'll do...

1.​​Lead site‑level QC operations for inbound and outbound fresh produce, meat, and seafood, ensuring inspections meet Walmart Canada standards and regulatory requirements. ​Oversee product acceptance, rejection, segregation, and disposition decisions, including validation of escalated quality determinations.​​
2.​​Provide day‑to‑day leadership to QC Technicians, including work allocation, coaching, training, and on‑floor support across shifts.​
3.​​Maintain product integrity within the PDC through temperature control, dwell time management, lot traceability, rotation, re‑inspection, and non‑conforming product handling.​
4.Act as the primary quality point of contact for PDC operations and cross‑functional partners, including logistics and supply chain teams.
5.​​Calibrate inspection practices to ensure consistent standards, tolerances, and sampling methodology site‑wide.​
6.​​Provides support to the Quality Team including Supplier Quality Excellence Program (SQEP), Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) programs on site at all distribution centres in the region when required.​
7.​​Partner with Quality Managers on store and supplier issues, trend analysis, corrective actions, and support store or supplier engagements as required.​
​​8.Drive reporting, analytics, and continuous improvement through accurate documentation, trend analysis, special projects, and execution of site‑level quality goals.​

The pay range for this position is $60,000.00 - $75,000.00. Pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
