Position Summary...

The Manager, On Demand Shop and Deliver, Driver Pool, leads in the execution of OMNI programs reliant on the independent contractor driver pool delivering on the Spark Driver app. The manager is accountable for driving the existing operation and growth of the driver pool as well as the development of new opportunities. Their responsibilities include vendor management, supply planning, driver payments, as well as leading and facilitating decision-making. The manager works cross-functionality across the business and vendors to drive implementation and execution of programs, as well as ensure legal, compliance, and financial scrutiny across the organization.

What you'll do...

  • Work with internal marketing stakeholders to grow the independent contractor driver pool delivering on the Spark Driver app. Manages relationships with vendors part of the Spark Driver Platform, including negotiating contracts, controlling costs, mitigating vendor-related risks, and ensuring service delivery. Works with Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Affairs on legal contracts, MSAs, and other contractual documentation (including new business, addendums, and amendments) to ensure vendor programs are aligned with overall business goals and long-term objectives.
  • Accountable for all aspects of driver payments, including competitively benchmarking payment solutions and developing innovative programs that increase driver satisfaction and retention. Works cross-functionally with Finance, Treasury, Tax, Technology, and Operations to deliver payment-related strategic and project goals. Also responsible for daily operations, such as iterating the pricing structure, processing of payments, reconciliation, calculating adjustments, coordinating approvals, and reporting.
  • Owns operational planning and execution, with a focus on supply planning to determine driver acquisition needs. Develops vendor and driver incentives to influence micro-economic conditions, such as price elasticity, with the goal of optimizing labor supply to increase resource efficiency.
  • Influences and engages stakeholders in developing and aligning on data-driven recommendations to drive the expansion and scalability of the Spark Driver program (reliant on driver pool growth) to increase OG delivery growth and profitability.
  • Be a subject matter expert on independent contractor driver last mile delivery services. Supports building the strategy of any new on demand delivery program to ensure that the overall solution is leveraging and sharing best practices in the industry and across relevant verticals to optimize cost, scalability, and customer experience.
  • Reports on the business to senior leadership, measuring the program against OKRs and identifying lead/lag metrics. Calls out blockers and develops comprehensive solutions to course correct.
  • Supports Omni Channel Last Mile and eCommerce financial activities, which include P&L, cost modeling, budget development, expense management, and business case development.
  • Accountable for compliance and processing of appropriate payments to vendors in line with policy and governance.

Key Skills

  • Data Analysis: The candidate must have a strong proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques. This includes experience with statistical software, data visualization tools, and machine learning algorithms. Familiarity with tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Python, SQL, R etc. is crucial.
  • Attention to Detail: The role requires careful examination of data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies. A keen eye for detail is essential for accurate analysis and interpretation of data.
  • Critical Thinking: The candidate must be able to evaluate information, identify causality, and make sound recommendations based on their findings. Strong critical thinking skills are a must-have.
  • Communication Skills: The candidate must be able to effectively communicate their findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills are vital.
  • Objectivity: The role requires individuals to remain objective and unbiased when evaluating data and making recommendations. This includes avoiding subjective assumptions and ensuring that all analysis is based on empirical evidence.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: The candidate must be able to identify and solve complex problems using data and analytics. Strong problem-solving skills are a necessity. Collaboration: As the role often involves working with cross-functional teams, the ability to collaborate effectively is essential. This includes being open to feedback, sharing ideas, and working towards common goals.
