(CAN) Senior Specialist, On Demand Shop & Deliver

Position Summary...
The Sr. Specialist, On Demand Shop & Deliver, owns trust and safety as well as compliance-related responsibilities for the Spark Driver platform. They are responsible for ensuring that drivers, customers, and associates (1) trust Walmart and the Spark Driver platform, (2) can participate in delivery-related actions safely, and (3) that the Spark Driver platform is compliant with Walmart internal and regulatory policies. Their duties include the execution of the Trust & Safety framework, implementing new compliance-related technology features, and coordinating compliance-related tasks, including the background check and automobile insurance verification process. They will work cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Technology, and Business teams in Canada and the United States.What you'll do...
Experience
- 3-5 years work experience
- Bachelors of Commerce or Business Administration
- Experience in eCommerce platforms and working with legal and compliance teams required
- PowerBI, data analysis, Lean Six Sigma training an asset
What You'll Do
- Leads the execution of the Trust & Safety framework for the Spark Driver program. Monitors and actions critical (i.e. egregious) alleged incidents from customers, associates, and drivers. This process includes determining severity level of the alleged incident, coordinating stakeholders to investigate, escalating to the appropriate teams within Walmart and monitoring investigation progress, and/or deactivating drivers.
- Identifies improvements to the Trust & Safety framework and related processes across partner teams and works with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize and implement those enhancements.
- Implements new technology features supporting compliance to Walmart internal and regulatory needs. Works closely with Legal, Compliance, and Technology to develop requirements and ensure a successful and timely launch. Features may address, but are not limited to, food safety, privacy, payments, or adapting to new provincial regulations. Post-launch, review flagged background checks, audit the system regularly, identify risks and improvements, and work with Legal and Technology teams to enhance the system.
- Documents Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for compliance-related processes, identifies process improvement initiatives, and works cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Technology, and Business teams to effectively implement these enhancements.
- Be a subject matter expert on compliance to Walmart’s standards as well as in the on demand/last mile gig industry. Stay up to date with industry trends and news. Train and mentor team members and cross-functional stakeholders on compliance best practices, as well as assist product owners with resolving any compliance-related issues for new technology features and enhancements.
