Position Summary...

This position is responsible for creating, validating, gaining cross functional alignment and communicating a demand plan of all products flowing into and out of each Distribution Centre and stores in Walmart Canada. This demand plan is primarily utilized as the basis for all short term and long term labor planning activities and requirements. The demand plan is a critical input for many foundational strategic projects like long term network capacity planning.

What you'll do...

1.Create, validate and work collaboratively with leadership roles throughout logistics, transportation, replenishment, merchants and store operations in order to gain consensus on a demand plan for all products flowing into and out of each Distribution Centre and ultimately the stores across Walmart Canada. This plan will be the foundation of strategic alignment of work and processes for all groups that touch the flow of goods.

2.Strong, professional and clear communication skills to the logistics, transportation, replenishment, store operations, and merchandising communities in order to incorporate all of the relevant business intelligence into and out of the optimized demand plan which is core to the logistics operational planning.

3.Creation and maintenance of planning processes and feedback loops ensuring the central demand plan by site will translate into labor planning of each job code by day at distribution centres across Canada.

4.Use detailed knowledge of DC Operations, systems, and infrastructure to interface with leadership teams of DC and Central Operations to identify cost and risk within business decisions while making recommendations to remove that cost for the purpose of driving change for smooth and cost effective flow of inventory.

5.Use detailed knowledge of DC Operations, Systems, and infrastructure to develop strategic framework for the development of forward looking plans (3 yr, 5 yr), P&L impacts, DC Operation Headwinds while providing systemized reporting to influence logistics and replenishment senior leadership to change processes with the purpose of reducing cost and improve service to stores.
6.Lead development of daily forecasting requirements to support National transportation and store operations.
7.Lead flow planning and supply chain planning initiatives across various business functions.Tasks include project management and documentation, mediating solutions across functions, communication to audiences at all levels, and follow up on daily milestones/tasks and escalating risks.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ year Supply Chain experience
  • Strong data & analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights
  • Previous experience with Distribution Centre Operations
  • Strong communication skill and proven ability to influence cross functional stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paces environment, managing multiple projects and priorities
