Position Summary...

The Senior Manager – National Fleet Business Development is responsible for developing and executing the strategic growth plan (Long Range Plan) of the national Walmart Fleet “transportation for hire” pillar within the organization. The purpose this role will be but not limited to:
• Establishing a new E2E revenue stream for Walmart Fleet called “Transportation for hire”
• Leading and executing the Long Range Plan and building out the AOP for “Transportation for hire”
• Influence, partner and collaborate with internal & cross functional stakeholders
• Establish and partner with external stakeholders
• Accountable for generating new revenue stream (new business opportunities) of more than 20M in annual profit within the first 3 years followed by 7% annual growth plans
• Disrupt the transportation sector to drive incremental revenue for Walmart Fleet Canada
• Develop sales strategy plans within the transportation sector

This will be achieved by leveraging extensive industry experience and creating a new business model for Walmart Canada and implement programs to deliver on the annual profit plans. Cultivating and managing relationships with key clients, negotiating contracts, and identifying new business opportunities will be the keys to success in this role.

In addition, the need of this role is to unlock potential growth for the organization by developing our competitive advantage for the Walmart Supply Chain brand - providing industry leading service at a cost lower than market.

The Senior Manager – National Fleet Business Development will be a key asset in generating additional revenue streams that will grow the fleet into additional locations in Canada thereby further expanding the competitive advantage across transportation.

What you'll do...

1. Lead LRP and AOP for transportation for hire business within Walmart Fleet. This includes the design and execution of sales and profit plans of a 20M annual profit plan for Walmart Fleet services across Canada. While continuously strategizing / optimizing new way to optimize revenue streams.
2. Provide strategic leadership, direction and expertise for Walmart Fleet Transportation for hire business to deliver against our LRP and continue to grow the business.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities by leveraging extensive industry networks as well as market research, industry data and analytics and relationship building.
3. Influence, negotiate, build and maintain strong external relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
4. Partner and collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless execution and delivery of transportation services.
5. Lead and mentor a sales team, providing guidance, training, and support to maximize their performance.
6. Provide and lead external trend analysis and provide recommendations and solutions based on industry expertise. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify areas for growth and improvement.
7. Lead and manage regular sales reports and performance metrics to executive leaders. Manage resistance and address operational questions related to the execution of Transportation for hire business.
8. Lead E2E negotiations and contracts with internal cross functional stakeholders and external customers, ensuring terms are favorable and align with company objectives.
