Position Summary...

Reporting to the Director, Pricing Strategy and Analytics, this key role owns the embedding of our pricing strategy into our pricing analytics and technology to support strategic planning initiatives. The Senior Manager will manage team of analytic managers and product owners that plan and manage the development pipeline and KTLO with the Product Technology team (discovery, development, UAT, production) and serves as the POC between engineering team and business stakeholders.)

What you'll do...

Partner with Walmart Product Technology teams (local, international) to develop a clear roadmap, strategy, end to end process mapping, build scenarios to finalize the requirements for a future pricing product strategy, that encompasses multiple pricing modules, and ensures the architecture is scalable for omni business. Be the lead for Walmart’s next generation, artificial intelligence / machine learning based decision-making solutions, fully integrated pricing workflow solutions, insightful business intelligence solution and fully automated price execution solutions.


Lead & mentor a team of analytics managers, technology and data-scientists to deliver upon pricing initiatives. Be comfortable flexing from leading a team to performing hands-on. Guide the team to build proof of concepts, perform data analysis, build analytical models, come up with recommendations to implement strategy and improve methodology, develop technology & data-science engines as required to support the merchandising team.


Manage and perform hands on UAT for pricing tools and feature enhancements, ensure best in class product developed and maintained. Continuously improve testing and documentation for testing to meet business requirement. Also manage and perform hands on product support to troubleshoot issues hampering business continuity with ability to determine bug vs enhancement and end to end impact of solution. Build system and processes to minimize down time and quick resolution of issues to drive and maintain user adoption.


Implement the strategy and embed the technology in the pricing and merchant organization. Influence and communicate the project plans and rollout across the cross functional organization to ensure we have alignment and buy in with the appropriate groups with proper timelines. Further socialize, take training to skill up merchants / end user and measure business value generated.


Leverage and partner with Global Technology and Pricing Teams as well as internationally to share best practices. Be the subject matter expert in Walmart Canada, build expert knowledge among cross-functional business areas to support the implementation of projects. Manage multiple high priority projects at the same time, drive meetings to reach an agreement and decide next steps, align on tasks and ownership, deliver tasks owed on time or follow up with owners to deliver project on time.


Lead end-to-end implementation of pricing tools to achieve a pricing strategy by identifying and defining transformational change and processes, validating value and priority, creating project plans to implement processes, and assessing people’s readiness for change. Leads and governs agile product implementation MVP approach (minimum viable product) by collaborating with cross-functional teams including but not limited to Merchandising, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Operations, Change Management.


Design, build, and implement pricing product solutions inclusive of analytic and data science frameworks, business rules configurations, and user experience persona’s on Walmart supported technology stacks and make continuous improvement to achieve and maintain a market leading position. Optimize technological resources to unlock big-data and run sophisticated data-science algorithm. Be application and data science guru in your area to leverage data to make/influence strategic decisions and help team members and cross-functional partners. Provide support to pricing and merch ops leadership to drive data driven decisions. Be up to date in current market advancement in data-science and technology.


Hire and nurture talent to build a high-performance team; manage product technology partners (internal and external), their budgets, including the negotiation of deliverables, day-to-day service agreements, and the management of issues and additional ad hoc needs. Ensure team members are enabled to deliver and have resources to support both internal strategies as well as merchandising requirements.

Qualifications

· Minimum education required: Post-Secondary Education In Business / Science / Engineering or related field

· Minimum 7 years of increasing responsibility in CPG/Retail,  Advanced analytics/data science, Revenue Growth Management/Sales Strategy and Planning

· Strong at influencing stakeholders through data-based storytelling and succinct presentations

· Methodical and strategic thinker who deploys sound frameworks to problem solve and solution concepts for

testing and development

· Loves connecting the dots through data and motived to develop technology to augment business processes

and decision making

· Results oriented leadership style with a keen ability to motivate a team to operate in an agile environment

and act with urgency

· Very resourceful

· Attitude to learn new and challenging work
