Position Summary...

The scope of this position is to ensure all Walmart Branded Food products and suppliers consistently adhere to Walmart quality standards to meet the customers’ quality expectations.

What you'll do...

Develop and Communicate food quality standards to suppliers and 3rd party labs and monitor compliance

Review new and existing product specifications verifying testing parameters are systematic and tolerance levels are rigorous.

Review Quality reports from 3rd party testing laboratories and ensure results are within Walmart specifications.

Lead quality investigations with suppliers; identify root cause and determine appropriate response and corrective/preventative action plans within defined timelines.

Review customer feedback; identify trends and communicate to all stakeholders; approve appropriate corrective action plans with defined timelines

Regularly review testing protocols to ensure they are up to industry expectations

Collaborate with Product Development, Global Sourcing, third party labs and other stakeholders to ensure all critical to quality product parameters are considered in product design

Verify product meets product specifications through thorough testing at many points thorough the development cycle

Qualifications

• Undergraduate Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related discipline.

• Minimum 8 years experience in Quality Assurance within the food/retail industry.

• Strong background in Process Improvement, GMPs, and QA methodology.

• Demonstrated experience in a fast paced, customer-centric retail environment.

• Solid understanding of Food industry in Canada.

• Proficient analytical skills with ability to multi task effectively.

• Strong organization and communication skills (both written and oral).

• Good relationship building with Associates and vendor community.

• Solid knowledge of computer systems (Microsoft Office, excel, Power BI).
